Break ke baad !

Why does it happen that you connect to the internet with a particular topic to search for but after 2 hours have passed and you are about to disconnect, you remind yourself, 'arre! mai karne kya aayi thi yaar?'
Self-imposed restrictions on the time of internet usage never seem to work for most of us! But why? The ocean of information and the inquisitive mind are difficult to part, right?

The same happened right now :D. So after 2-3 hours of aimless roaming on the internet, here I am, writing after nearly 6 months(on my new lappy, btw ;) ).
Its like talking to myself, feels good. Its not that I totally parted with blogosphere. The thought of writing hit me many times, during my aimless surfing sessions. But engineering makes your brain so numb that you don't even find a topic to write on. Engineering subjects make you divorce the english language. But the love for writing needs to be nurtured with time and practice.
Beshak the quality of the post is shitty :D, but I'm still enjoying writing it.
So, what all changed in this time I was away. Well, petrol prices went up, Anna's movement became stronger, rounds of joota-throwings and thappad-baazi took place. Other than these, I have improved on guitar and have made my Life's to do list, after getting inspired by bro and Oprah(who keeps a visionboard).
Plus, no more days of berojgaari (Wipro people accepted to bear me :P). Next post about the fun experience.

New year and exams all went well. And how can we forget the recent V-day and its associated this-day and that-day covering the entire week, when everything around you is irritatingly red, whether the entire ads-loaded newspaper or every tv channel (except aastha maybe).

Hoping to be regular with blogging this time.

Facing this situation for the second time. First after 12th class and now, when graduation is about to complete, again. The same questions that every student goes through...which way to go??

Once that is decided after giving it much thought (throughout graduation), then a different question arises...

Should one keep all options open by filling out all forms (Gate, mat, cat, psu's, placements etc) or one should focus all effort on just one target??

When surrounded by conflicting thoughts, and the mind isn't able to think further, some good music just does the trick. In a similar situation, I heard the song "Sanu ik pal chain na aave, sajna tere bina". There's something magical about this song. It is one of those songs that soothe out all the tensions in mind. That make you think "Life's a Bliss" :)

Plus, I just completed "The God of small things". A great novel. It talks about the laws that govern who should be loved, and how, and how much. And about the writing, the way of putting up each situation is simply brillant. It comes so easy in her language, like we talk to each other in our daily lives. Arundhati's writing is so real that you relate to it as you read, particularly the description of how children think.

That's the thing I love about post-exams holidays. You do all that you had planned while preparing for exams, while not being able to concentrate ;)

I read it somewhere and thought of sharing it..

The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle,
When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the mayonnaise jar
And 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class And had some items in
front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly,
He picked up a very large
And empty mayonnaise jar
And proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students
If the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.
He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open
Areas between the golf balls.

He then asked
The students again
If the jar was full..
They agreed it was..

The professor next picked up a box of sand And poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full.
The students responded
With an unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced
Two cups of coffee from under the table
And poured the entire contents

I am currently reading Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. An intelligent story with brilliant narration.(till now)
Total: 25 chapters. After reading chapter 16, just when the story was taking an important turn, I noticed that chapters 17 & 18 were missing!!
The story directly jumps to chapter 19 which is printed twice. Fuming with anger and disgust, I felt like tearing the book apart into a million pieces and throwing it out of the train.
However, as I gained control over my emotion (after listening to a Euphoria's song), I began reading further.

Chapter 19 onwards. Got to know that one of the main characters, Hassan died. Its itching to know HOW??
Currently, I am in the mid of chapter 22.
It was a paperback edition by Bloomsbury Publishing Plc :(

Happy Aazadi to one and all :)
Freedom...the word, in itself is so soothing to the ears. The newspapers, radio stations, news channels all are shouting this and that about independence, since a few days.
So, I also started feeling patriotic today :D
I felt like listening to A.R.Rehman's Vande Mataram and watching Rang De Basanti.
But there lies some hypocrisy in all of us whether we admit it or not. This patriotism should be real, it shouldn't be such that it stays for days like 15 August and 26 January and then is washed away the next day.

People who claim to be patriotic are looked down upon as emotional, outdated or posers! No doubt, most of them are! And those who are true in their feeling, are kids, who haven't seen the real India and still cling to the 'sweet-sugary 'notions taught at school...u know..all the cheeni-cheeni stuff..
But on the other hand, how can patriotism be true when we have lost faith in the country itself. All due to the people at the top.
Some days back, I was watching a show on ndtv on the anniversary of Kargil War. And a senior Army officer (now retd.) admitted that "If there was less restriction and orders from the political bosses, India would have won Kargil a long time back, with much...much less loss of lives.
Actually, India lost the war because the number of our dead and wounded soldiers was nearly twice that of Pakistan's soldiers."

This Independence Day, we witness another wonderful incident-

The Prime Minister's APPEAL in today's newspaper: Donate generously to the National Relief Fund for victims in Leh"

What a perfect time it is ! The solution lies outright before us !
Many ministers' names have been coming up in Commonwealth Games Scam. Instead of sqeezing money out from us, go extract it out from those who have accumulated wealth enough-for-their-generations in the CWG Scam. Impose heavy penalties on them and you can easily collect funds for Leh victims.

We have seen uncountable incidents where India itself has been insulted by political leaders in one way or the other. The entire scene needs enormous changes and we have been repeating this line since years but now its time we acted.
If we want change at the top, we need to start change from the bottom.
Here I remember the dialogue from Rang De Basanti: Police mein bharti honge, Military join karenge, IAS banenge, politics ka hissa banke is desh ki sakaar chalayenge.Ye desh badlega, Hum badlenge ise !!

God knows, how many lives will be laid down in this process. But if the outcome is as desired, I am for it.

Should we or should we not ??

In the morning, Amy was entering the railway station, walking hurriedly to catch the 7:05 passenger train.A small child came to her, begging, one hand stretched in the hope of receiving something and the other, stroking his stomach to define hunger.
Many thoughts crossed her mind at that instant- the train, whether she would be able to catch it or not, whether she should give the child some money or the apple in her bag, but its his daily business, at this age he should study instead of earning...
Finally, she concentrated on catching the train.

On her way back home, outside the metro station, she again came across such a situation but this time with an old woman, with a skeletal frame, wearing a tattered saree. Her mind was again divided into two parts, fighting over whether to give or not, am i promoting begging.Why doesn't this auntyji do something to employ herself, why doesn't the govt give employment opportunities to physically fit beggars??
Finally, she passed by.

In the evening, as she went to the market, yet another woman carrying a child approached her.She thought in her mind, not again.The woman followed her to some distance, begging for the child and promising different kinds of good wishes- " beti, tujhe achha pati milega, tera ghar achha basega, bhai ki achhi naukri lagegi etc etc. "
Yet again, after millions of thoughts rushed through her mind, she passed by silently.
These scenes are an inevitable part of her daily commute and they somewhere made her feel inside that she has become such a stone-hearted person.

But there were other incidents that justified what she did.
She was once travelling with her cousins on a train.An old woman with a child, came begging. They thought it better to give her something to eat. They gave her some fruits and bread-jam. The moment she had her first bite, she started behaving weirdly, shouting loudly-pata nahin kya khila diya hamein... Creating a full drama for more than 20-25 minutes, refusing to go unless she was paid a good sum. Fellow-passengers gathered and settled the situation finally. That day she remembers, a harsh lesson learnt.

Another day, same commute. A woman not looking like a beggar came towards Amy and her friend, as they stood not very far from their office. This time the dialogues were new- "Beta mere 300 rupaye gum ho gaye hain, meri madad kar do, mujhe paise dedo"
Her friend, not new to such kind of robberies (asking for help and then snatching away the wallet and shoot like a cheetah), said- aunty paise toh hamein aapse maangne chahiye, student ki pocket mein toh hamesha hi kadki rehti hai ..etc etc. As he started his speech, the uninterested aunty walked away.

These scenes somewhere made her feel inside that she should not be fooled by beggars.
Then why Amy's mind is still parts into two opposing pieces at the sight of people, specially children; poor deprived of food, cloth, shelter- the basics.
Should she give something or simply pass by? Should she give money or food? Are chocolates a good idea?

Found some of them irritating.

A dreamy post

Aimlessly and endlessly surfing the internet this weekend, I accidentally came across Globus On the Road contest. The contest was over but the guy behind it, Rishad Saam Mehta, who writes travel articles for various leading newspapers, filled me with a sense of slight envy.What an amazing profession he has ! He travels, writes, does stunning photography and while on the job, does scuba diving, trekking and collecting art or posters from street markets around the world.

I wish I land into a career like this...
I don't know my route, which course shall i opt for post-graduation, will my engineering be in line with it, future prospects, possibilities, the so-called 'family circumstances' in India, what studies or preparation should i start from now...and so on. Just two words can shut the above sentence up: No Idea. But still there are dreams...hopes...and faith. So the search for possibilities is on..trying to combine interests with options available.. and i definitely will find a way. But the stage of 'madness about dream' will arrive only when i am clear and sure of what i have to do. Whatever it will be; travelling, photography and adventure sports will surely be a part of it.

Truly, only idiots chase dreams and I'll be happy to be one.
...because there is immense power in dreams.

People realize...kaash lectures laga liye hote.
People recall that throughout the semester Professors suggested fascinating books...ultimate authors..some foreign some indian...but unko padhke sala koi pass kyun nahi hota??!!!
Aur local authors ki raddi books padh ke chatur-ramalingam(s) top maarte hain...why so?Kyuki...
Pass hone ke do hi tareeke hain...
1)Ya toh farre banao, nakal chalao, aage-pichhe walon se dosti nibhao
2)Ya zimmedari uthao padhne ki.....Local author ki local books...

Moral of the story: ??..pata chale toh mujhe bhi batana plz :P

How does it feel when you are just one step far from the peak and you slip down suddenly?
A mixture of regret, anger and self-disgust...all of which don't taste good. And the anguish is exponentiated by people's sympathies...
A: Koi baat nahi yaar...atleast you tried...fir kya hogya...better luck next time...
B: ...barely manages to smile... (thinking inside: shut up!!!)
C: Chalo ho gya na ab....agli baar second bhi nahi aaoge... (a failed attempt to crack a joke)
A: ...(thinks: tu toh dafa hi ho ja yahan se)

Then it dawns upon you that you aren't angry because you were so close to achieving it...but because you don't agree with people's comments. Anyway, the question still stands...how does it feel when you are so close to victory... and something goes wrong...whom do you blame?? Luck??..but if you don't believe in this word...then whom?
But one thing is for sure...Every day gives you a lesson...don't look for it..just keep your eyes n ears open.

Wonder years

With the new semester just beginning, there was a mass bunk.So she was enjoying her time at home. Leafing through old magazines, she came across an edition of 'Brunch' which talked about "Wonder Years - Our school and college days never fail to evoke warm, nostalgic memories."
Our alma mater is so special to all of us.But when we studied there, we subjected it to all kinds of curses, expletives etc.
So, walking leisurely down the memory lane...she recalled her first real experience as a speaker.An event at school.It wasn't that she was a total stranger to stage.She noticed her seniors performing onstage at various times. She appreciated a few of them for their originality and natural-ness.And had herself attempted to deliver good performances...some of which crashed, leaving a little embarrassment...some gained a little applaud.It was her father who pushed her into these things and encouraged her to be active in them...perhaps he sensed something in her.
Her stage presence was shared by a good friend, which gave her some relief.Both had to work together on it.She reached onstage...hands and feet cold yet wet...heartbeat fast...wondering if her friend felt the same way as her.Then she brushed away all the thoughts...had a look at the entire audience, said a prayer of two words in her heart..with a deep breath and started the show with a bright smile.

After sometime...the fingers became normal she wondered how :O as if she got used to the situation.
At the end, she delivered her 'best show till then' and she didn't even know it.It was only when the show was over and she was flooded with applaud and 'pats on the back' from her mentors, that she realized what she just did or rather achieved.
Now after years had passed and she never missed an opportunity to grab the stage, she was cherishing those beautiful memories...which were the 'base' of what she was now- known as a gifted speaker among everyone. These memories, whenever came to her mind, left a never-ending smile on her face.Amazing were those days, those people, that stage, that school...which made her what she was today.Truly, those were the Wonder Years.

A group called Confluence visited our college to subject us to hours of boredom.Their visit was spread over 4 days and one fateful day we became their victims.Some stuff was appreciable...and some were the same old stale things everybody keeps saying.So without talking much let me put down some excerpts...

No detail is too small & No effort is too big.
If it is to be it is up to me.So Take Charge.
Don't get stuck with content but with context.
If you can't make it good, make it look good.

They mentioned a book called 'Made in America' by Sam Walton.It describes two ways to know how well an instituition is working.The first one, the toilet test.If the toilet smells good, it indicates that the institution is working well.Second was, the employee feedback.Ask a few employees how they feel about the institution.If they answer in positive, the institution will go a long way.
The session seemed interesting in the first fifteen minutes.Then as they moved on to the theoretical details, it became terribly intolerable....details like-
Competency-Any characteristic that differentiates a superior worker from an average or poor worker.Types of competency-Technical(process-driven) and Behavioural or Managerial(people-driven).
Employability-Being useful and getting paid for it.The three stages of employability-Getting a job, Keeping a job, Excelling in a job.
Then they turned to one single word-Professionalism-and elaborated on it for the rest of it.
On the whole, i can only give them 5 on 10.

New beginnings...

Bringing with it a fresh splash of hopes, resolutions and self-commitments...a sparkling New Year has arrived.
Having a look at the year that passed by...
At this time last year i was back from a cousin's wedding with my Maths exam the next day....a subject i considered more terrible and torturing than RGV movies.
We had an unforgettable tour with college friends that were and some that became...
I added to my experience many lessons....some little...some life-changing ones...
And the year ended with the best that i could have...and another joyous year has began with the best that i will have...
Now with every new year, come new resolutions, many(actually,most) of which are not met completely.
That is why once i gave up making resolutions, then breaking them and then feeling the ugly guilt for long.
But a nice saying came to my mind
"When a person really desires something, all the universe conspires to help that person to realize his dream."
Only when one is clear of his dream...
Setting a goal...helps achieve some part of it atleast...

Anyway, its 12:27a.m. so i'll putdown the rest of my brain's output later.
Wishing that you all be blessed with a relaxed mind, a peaceful soul, a joyful spirit, a healthy body and a heart full of love.Have a great year ahead !!!

So this year...the goal is to read all the books on my hitlist and experiment with new authors and genres (both in books and music) Also, to start gathering all info on psychology...my subject of interest since long. Apart from this, there is so much i wish to do and i believe i have all the energy to achieve it..all i need is to focus it in the right direction.zada future mein chale gye...ab padh b lena chahiye...aakhir semester finals hain :P

New year...New beginnings...New hopes...
This is a new year on which i am the most happiest for which I have countless reasons.The topmost one being that bro cleared the SSB, the medicals and got his name in the All-India merit list....to finally join the Indian Airforce.So today we went to see him off at IGI.It means i won't be able to see him for the next 6 months.And the disappointing part is that...no cellphones are allowed there..so a complete cut-off with him.We have been enjoying at home since he was back after completing his engg last year followed by a 2 month job.
But still...today i felt like talking to you for a lil more time...laughing together...mimicking together...having fun together...for a lil more time.....

Even if i said 'Tu toh chup hi reh' but i looked up to you for all advice-professional and personal...
Even if i always kept shouting at you for various reasons but i liked your amazing fundas for every situation...
Even if i kept fighting with you over the tv remote but i liked to watch espn with you and enjoy your hilarious punjabi commentory...
Even if we always kept arguing but our views always matched in the end,and then we fought over "who started it??"
Even if ever i felt low, listening to your songs cheered up everything...
Even if i never left you a scrap(dint felt the need to), i can't help visiting your profile over and over again...and listening to your song...
Even if i used to get irritated by thousands of names you called me by but now i long to be called those...

I will achieve what you always expected me to...
But I will miss you loads...

Thoughts can be more powerful than the mightiest weapons.Thoughts rule the world when translated into action.People re-shape their destinies just by their thoughts.
Let's analyse our thoughts.The scientific guys say that about 30,000-40,000 thoughts cross our mind in a day which are of 4 basic types:-
Positive thoughts:Focussed ones.They carry best intentions for ourselves and others.
Necessary thoughts: "I must get the notes xeroxed" or "I must return that book at the library" etc
Waste thoughts: Thinking too much about the past or worrying too much about the future.Thoughts that others spill out as gossip.
Negative thoughts: Feelings of anger, fear, ego, greed, sadness, doubt, regret and unease.They drain away our energy.
A large % of our thoughts is negative or waste which becomes the root cause of our stress.
So, by increasing the quota of positive thoughts, we can expeience a relaxed state of mind.

And here comes a stupid story...
Once a yogi and his disciple were in a big city.They had no money either for food or night stay.The disciple was perplexed.The yogi smiled and assured him that everything will be alright.

college tour to nainital

The news was in the air since a week but..."Bete I'm sorry", the active HOD had told us (Because our HOD who suffers from Acute Indecisiveness and apathy, was on leave, perhaps on a vacation with biwi n kids).But our hardwork n perseverance finally paid...(If i went on to describe the term "hardwork" here, it would take 3-4 blogposts ;) Phew!finally, we were going and the venue decided was Nainital (but there was still that "doubt ka keeda" till we sat in the bus at midnight.)
Then came the night of departure.All set.Unending advice from mom and dad. Happiness on bro's face...shukar hai rab da kuchh din di rahat milegi...
The bus as expected was late but it was late beyond imagination.Scene at home(11:35 p.m.) -
Worried expression on mom's face.Dad was cool.Bro was loosing patience.

Bro: bas bohot ho gya tera...chal ab dafa ho jaa
Those two hours of endless wait...sara balance udd gya do ghanto mein...
me: abe kahan ho yaar?
Friend on phone: bas 15 min mein pohoch rahe hain.
me:2 ghante ho gye, abhi tak tu 15 min mein hi aa raha hai?

me: ok ok pohochne se 5 min pehle missed maar diyo

Then late at night, we boarded the bus and headed to the destination.As expected, the journey was far more fun than the destination itself.All that excitement didn't let anyone sleep...everyone cheering, shouting n all...endless sessions of games..n..songs..not for a nanosecond, did silence prevail.

We didn't know when it dawned.The view was breathtaking....the sun painting the sky with strokes of red.(None of us is normally awake so early.)
After having a light breakfast on the way, our energy levels stabilized and then i took a nap.It was then that the length of the journey came to our notice.

By noon we reached bhimtal, all tired by the journey, where we stayed at Seahawk.

After lunch, we went out to have a look at Bhimtal lake.The real spots were due for the next day.

Came the much-awaited next day.Early in the morning we reached Nainital.

In the little time we had, we tried to explore as many places we could...to name a few...Cave Garden, G.B.Pant zoo, Mango lake,Tibetan market, snow view, St. John church,a masjid, a gurudwara, Naina Devi Temple...beautiful

We should do a little research before visiting a place...
A friend had told "Don't dare to miss the Governor House."
So me and 3 of my friends went there walking nearly 5 kms.We were cursing the governor to have built his residence so far.But we were happy that the hardwork will be worth it.All drained of energy but with loads of excitement still in us, we reached there, to find that the Governor is in for stay! :( This snatched away all the enthusiasm.On the way, we had asked a dozen people about it.Everyone praised but nobody cared to tell us that visitors are not allowed till a week.
Anyway, we returned to the resort late evening where the DJ was awaiting us.Later, we relaxed at the bonfire with steaming cups of coffee,in the chilly night.
I wrote this all for i wanted to capture every bit of it :)

Hi all,I read this little story somewhere and found it worth sharing......so here it goes...
A group of young professionals thought of giving a pleasant visit to their former teacher.After greetings n all...were exchanged and general conversation was going on,the teacher observed that all of them...at some point or the other,complained of a stressful life.
He went up to his kitchen and made them coffee.He poured it in cups-some stylish expensive ones and some ordinary.As expected,most of them readily picked up the expensive ones,as everyone wants the best for him.

The alarm rang.I hit the snooze button.Five minutes later, it again asked me to get up.But a lazy me, again punched it off.The loop repeated for sometime until the loop terminating condition arrived:i finally made up my mind to get off the bed.6.30 am.The view outside soothed the freshly awoke eyes.Soft continuous rain, cool air n mild waft of the mitti ki pleasant khushbu.

I decided to stay back at home and enjoy the day, sipping hot coffee with choco-cookies, going thru the newspaper without worrying about missing the bus today,a late breakfast, reading a nice book therafter, going thru my collection of old newspaper cuttings and also, solve some maths exercises that are pending.

Except the last one, these thoughts, simply thinking about them is a state of pure bliss.

As the entire day stretched before me, i thought of putting it down here, it feels good, i don't know why.Perhaps, its the assurance that its a good way of killing time.

i had been planning as hell to write a post (same way as i plan daily to study...kal se pakka!)but time wouldn't let me.reminds me of the lyrics of purani jeans-vo karna planning roz nayi yaar...nice song.

Instead of time i shud have used the term-assignments...engineers ka aadha dimag assignments banane me hi jal jata hai aur baki ka aadha....mba k sapne lene mein...

Anyway,dint go to college today.was not feeling well.so,finally got a chance to post something.yay :) (getting ill was not that bad) Moreover,had a test today,that too my fav subjct IF...ok lets leev this part...(or my bro wud accuse me of takin a leave purposefully ;)

In different situations in our life, it happens often that we blame things on kismat.

Someone has to take the blame and its lot more easy to blame life and kismat, as they dont give back a reply or yell at you for being such a moron.

So its a good way to get relief from all that you wanted but couldn't get anyhow...

But i never understood this kismat theory till date.I mean..you have resources,you have things more than you actually require and most importantly,you have a brain...y not use it.

Okay,don't shout at me for this "free-pravachan"(for which i shud pay u to listen), m not intending at showering fokat ki advice on anyone.just putting down what i feel.

Well, i guess it's all a game of satisfaction and faith in yourself.

Some people believe that if blaming on destiny gives you mental peace,then why not?

After a long break...

Finally, my college started today after a long break of one complete month + 10 days 25 minutes and 18 seconds.(engineers are precise at everything,you know) Okay,that may not be too long for some but for a person as vella* as me,they were like unending years of sleeping, eating, and repeating with boredom and berojgari as icing on the cake (And,you know,that old saying..idle mind = devil's workshop).

For the jaankaari of my audience-

*vella = a person who has got nothing to do(except making other's lives miserable) is called vella in punjabi

How many books can one read, how many movies can one watch, how much tv can one view...

and that too when shows like sach ka saamna and Rakhi ka swyamwar are on air

Anyway, i would have watched if it was cyrus broacha ka swyamwar, or leonardo dicaprio ka swyamwar, or david beckham or even brett lee.

So, after all this, the most eagerly awaited day came(guys are more eager.....should i mention the word "birdwatching" or checking out new chicks).Subah-subah saj-dhaj ke, everyone boarded the bus to college, which was khacha-khach full with new faces.As we reached college(read central jail) our excitement levels were pulled down by the scene at college.Freshers, both guys and girls, being treated as "nazuk kaliyaan" by the professors,authorities and staff.

Not even intro yaar! That's too much. Now, it isn't like...isse vo ghis jayenge.Neither are we gonna eat them up with chilli sauce and heinz ketchup.

Who's gonna tell them, kis professor ko kaise patana hai, how much buttering is required on whom, who is a heartless moron, which one has the most beautiful soul, who is dhokhebaaz, least and most attendence is required in which subjects, best places for different tasks, best authors, about notes,inside stories and so on...

Chalo agar baad mein ye sab ho bhi jaye, but hamara itna bada fun element khatam hi kar diya.

But koi baat nahi, hum bhi apni seniorgiri execute kar ke hi rahenge.

Rethinking religion

The topic is rotten,i know.

And brings out a dull,monotonous,stupid and terribly boring image of the content but Relax!!! I am not going to start off a boring debate on what is right...what is wrong...what should be done and what not...

and i don't bear any personal grudges about anything or anyone in particular.I am just expressing my perception about it.(No hard feelings please)

The most debated topic is here.Actually i am too extremely bored of it but still wished to collect all my thoughts and opinions about it, settle the dispute once n for all and come to a conclusion inside me.(this means...take a sigh..no further posts on it :) )

In the name of religion and faith some intelligent guys(or they seem to be so) are having a ball.Fake babas everywhere, making innovative stories about different gods, goddesses, aatma, dharma, shudhhi, moksha-prapti...(a mixture of all such complex words they use....as normal language doesn't create that effect),their unusual ways of blessing people...baseless predictions about people's lives, career, marriage, offsprings and so on.Asking them to perform different sort of rituals and acts...thus,making good money in name of donations.

And the most disturbing fact...that people believe them..God knows why??

In villages,its understandable that literacy levels are not very appreciable.So people getting into these things is justified(though it should not be) but the shocking scene is that we have witnessed some well-educated people being a part of superstitious practices.

Some time ago,i came across a news report informing me that a devotee of goddess Kali cut his tongue and presented it to the goddess,in a temple in West Bengal.

But that was not it.I searched for such stuff and was horrified to find an endless list of these practices by hardcore religious fanatics.

Some of them included-

Drinking goat blood directly from its body so that Goddess Kali descends upon the drinker (images can be viewed here ...watch at your own risk )
A rural Indian doctor beheaded a five-year-old girl as part of a bizarre ritual to help a villager produce healthy male heirs.
Unmarried daughters to plow parched fields naked in a bid to embarrass the
weather gods to bring some badly needed monsoon rain
Mormom temple garments to be worn as part of Endowment ceremony
Scientology e-meter and jewish kaparot

I also don't understand the "confession box" thing in churches.Its like washing off all your sins so you can commit fresh ones.

Coming back to the topic...(I tend to get off-track...forgive me for that)

This topic is such that "Millions of people = Millions of views".And one cannot dare to share one's views! Because if you do that people's minds will run at light's speed to form countless opinions about you and you maybe even get regarded as some insane atheist or whatever.So the key is to keep shut at such discussions and observe other people clashing with each other(relegion Vs. reason)

Some people say that God or anything supernatural does not exist.And its just a myth created by some intelligent people so that man does not become boastful of things he accomplishes.....(i mean...stuff like that...to induce all desirable qualities in man).But the trick went wrong i guess....and way too far??

So i guess, humanity is the only religion.somebody has said-

"Think good

Be good

Do good

-this is true religion"

I don't know where to end...

Various religious issues still wait to be resolved like equal rights for homo n bi-sexuals,capital punishment,inter-faith marriages,ritual abuse and many more.This means more debating....(but not here anymore)

well...the new show on air-Pulsar mtv stunt mania- has brought out my dormant interest in bikes and stunts.Though,i am not much of a stuntman but i like to watch them(and maybe try them out too someday :P)

It brings out your image as a solid, powerful, fearless, daring, brave, lion-hearted, ready to accept challenges-type of person.(I like that ;-) )

So,the much awaited show started with a lot of the energy.

In the first episode, the contestents didn't seem much appealing (except a few of them).Perhaps,they have not shown their best yet.

Anyways, of the many famous stunts, lets try out the basic - that's a wheelie-

A suggestion - get the panels including the head lights removed while practicing wheelies. Check all the working parts of the bike like clutch plates, brakes,, throttle response etc

Get your self an ISI mark Helmet, elbow & knee guards, motorcycle gloves with carbon knuckles and covered shoes. Lastly choose a long stretch of an open road away from public.

Get used to the bike like handling, weight balancing etc. You can easily pop up a wheelie at a rpm range of 5000 – 6000 rpm. For the first, try to rev your bike to around 5000 rpm and leave the clutch fully. This will induce a torque and make the front wheel rise up in the air. If it doesn't, go for higher rpm.

Practice the way of bringing the front wheel down so that you are not slamming it down. For this you may pop up the front wheel and release the throttle smoothly, thereby restricting supply of petrol to the engine. If you do this in one go then you will slam the front wheel harder. Practice this technique to save your wheel from getting bent.

To continue with the wheelie for a longer distance, when you pop up the front wheelie as explained before and when your wheel is coming down apply the same technique, i.e. pull the clutch and rev and leave the clutch again in one go, just like before but just that your wheel is in the air. Practice it and master it.

There are various types of wheelies-power wheelie,clutch wheelie etc

Now lets go for a rolling stoppie-

Get your speed to whatever you want it, pull in the clutch and down shift to first, then squeeze the brake lever. You should feel the bike nose dive. It should dive smoothly, not all at once. Keep in mind you do NOT want to shock the front tyre, you want to transfer the weight of the bike onto the tyre smoothly. When the front end is down you will want to roll into the brake lever-that is- you should squeeze on the lever progressively harder and quicker.

(Now...don't blame me if you get a fracture :P)
